Pre-Hospital and Emergency Department Resuscitative Thoracotomy
Pre-hospital and Emergency department Resuscitative Thoracotomy (PERT) is a highly specialised course designed to give you practical skills in performing the four stages of a resuscitative thoracotomy. Alongside this, you'll gain insight into the preparation and management required for responding to emergency situations where a thoracotomy might be indicated.
The course is intensive, with a high faculty to participant ratio, ensuring you'll get lots of individual attention. The faculty is diverse, comprising trauma and cardiothoracic surgeons, as well as emergency medicine physicians; all of whom have substantial experience in managing and performing resuscitative thoracotomies.
